Chalk For Peace

We did a trial run this week for “CHALK FOR PEACE,” which is normally done for International Peace Day in September. We plan to do it in the fall, but figured we should try it out with the whole school to figure out the scheduling and logistics, since the whole K-6 school gets to participate. The whole day is about bonding, celebrating peace and acceptance for each other. We use chalk to draw peaceful images and words of encouragement to cover the school sidewalks and blacktop to share the messages with peers, teachers, and parents.
